We began the development of heritage vines as an experimental project in the 1980s to preserve the tradition and heritage of historic, old vine Zinfandel vineyards. By grafting Budwood from century-old vines onto mew rootstock, we cultivated delicious, balanced Zinfandel fruit with the deep, brooding characteristics of heirloom vines. Blend: 81% Zinfandel, 19% Petite sirah. Vineyard location: Hillside & benchland. Soil: Clay loam. Origin: Historic old vines.
