How to Prep Tropical Fruit
Quick tips to help you get your fruit ready for recipes and snacking.
- Kiwi: Slice in half and scoop out with a spoon, or peel the skin and slice into rounds
- Mango: Stand upright and slice along both sides of the pit, score the flesh in a grid, then cube or scoop
- Pineapple: Slice off the top and bottom, stand upright and cut away the skin, remove any “eyes,” then cut into slices or chunks
- Coconut: Drain the water by piercing the soft “eyes” at the top, carefully crack open the shell with a hammer or heavy tool, then pry or cut the flesh away from the shell
